When it comes to AI, it’s
natural to have questions. This page brings together the most common ones and
gives you a clear, honest answer to each.
What is
Mylo?
Mylo is HGEM Mystery Dining’s AI
assistant. Think of it as a knowledgeable second pair of eyes, built to help
you write the best possible mystery dining report.
Once you reach the end of your
visit report, Mylo carries out a final review and offers tailored suggestions:
things like improving sentence clarity, flagging where a comment might not
quite match your score, or noting if a section could benefit from more detail.
It’s there to support you, not to take over.
If Mylo takes longer than expected
to review your report, the process will stop and Mylo will not make any
suggestions. Do not worry if this happens! All reports are being reviewed by
our Quality team alongside Mylo, so this will be processed as normal.
Is Mylo
a chatbot?
No. Mylo doesn’t have a
conversation with you. It works quietly in the background and presents its
suggestions at the end of your report in a clear, easy-to-review format. You
can work through each one at your own pace.
Who
built Mylo?
Mylo was built by the HGEM team
using AI technology. HGEM retains full control over how it works and how it
develops over time. It has been trained and tested specifically for mystery
dining reports. It’s not a general-purpose AI tool.
WHAT MYLO DOES AND DOESN'T DO
What
exactly does Mylo check?
At the end of your report, Mylo
reviews:
• Spelling and grammar.
• Consistency between your written comments and the
scores you’ve given.
• Whether all of the requested information appears to
have been included.
• Clarity - flagging anything that might be unclear to a
reader.
Mylo then presents its
suggestions clearly, so you can decide what (if anything) to change before you
submit.
Will
Mylo rewrite or change my report?
Your report remains yours. Mylo
will automatically correct clear spelling and grammar issues, but for
everything else, it only ever makes suggestions. Nothing changes in your report
unless you actively choose to do so.
Could
Mylo miss something, or get something wrong?
Mylo is a helpful tool, but it’s
not perfect. It may occasionally flag something that doesn’t need changing, or
miss something that does. You, as the person who was actually there, are always
the final authority on your report. Mylo’s suggestions are a starting point to
consider, not instructions to follow.
Does
Mylo assess the quality of my mystery dining visit?
No. Mylo only reviews your
written report. It does not evaluate how you conducted your visit, assess your
performance as a diner, or feed into any quality scoring of your work.
Do I
have to accept Mylo’s suggestions?
Not at all. Every suggestion is
entirely optional. You can accept all of them, some of them, or none of them.
You are the expert on your own experience, and Mylo is simply there to help you
express it as clearly as possible.
What if
I disagree with a suggestion Mylo makes?
Simply ignore it. If Mylo flags
something that you believe is inaccurate, for example, if you have selected a
certain score and provided a comment to justify the score that genuinely
reflects your experience, you are free to leave your report exactly as it is.
You know what happened; Mylo is just working from the text.
Will I
be penalised if I ignore Mylo’s suggestions?
Ignoring suggestions will not
count against you, unless you’ve overlooked a clear error. For example, if
you’ve given a positive comment but a negative score and haven’t addressed
this, the Quality team may raise it as a Thing to Consider when reviewing your
report.
Is my
report data being used to train AI?
Your report content is processed
by Mylo in order to generate suggestions. HGEM tracks which suggestions were
made and which changes you chose to apply. This helps us understand where Mylo
is helpful and where it can be improved.
This data is handled in line
with HGEM’s standard data practices and is used solely to improve the tool. If
you have specific questions, please contact the HGEM Privacy team at privacy@hgem.com. Can Mylo
see my personal information?
No. Mylo only has access to the
content of the visit report you are completing and cannot hold onto your
personal information. Anything mentioned within your report will go no further
than the review process.
Mylo does not have access to
your personal profile, payment details, or any other account information.
Is Mylo
replacing the HGEM team or human review?
No. The HGEM team remains fully
involved in reviewing and managing visit reports. Mylo is designed to help you
before you submit, so reports arrive in the best possible shape. It does not
replace the relationships, expertise, or judgement of the people at HGEM.
Why has
HGEM introduced Mylo?
Our clients rely on mystery
dining reports to make real decisions about their venues and their teams. The
clearer and more consistent your reports are, the more useful they are. Mylo
gives every diner a little extra support, particularly when reports are long,
or when a second pair of eyes would be welcome.
I’m not
very comfortable with AI. Do I need to worry?
We understand that not everyone
feels confident with AI, and that’s completely valid. However, as we’ve
introduced Mylo to improve report quality for our clients and aid you in your report
writing, it is not a feature that can be disabled.
Here’s what we’d like you to
remember:
• Mylo does not make decisions, you do.
• Nothing in your report changes without your say-so.
• You are not being monitored or judged by Mylo.
• If you find Mylo’s suggestions unhelpful, you can
simply ignore them.
If you have any concerns after
using Mylo for the first time, please get in touch with the Mystery Dining
Support team - we’re always glad to hear from you.
